Mrs. Dalloway - Virginia Woolf, Maureen Howard

Well, I tried. I am completely unfamiliar with the story and had no idea what to expect going in. I picked this up this afternoon, and 30 tedious pages later, I have to say I don't really know what was going on during that time.

I get that Mrs Dalloway seems to have some sort of past with a man named Peter but she married Robert Dalloway and is now throwing a dinner party. But then there's some stuff about a mysterious person inside a car (who may or may not be the queen) some sky-writing, and a woman who thinks something is seriously wrong with her husband Septimus, because... he stares??? I'm not sure.

I had a debate with myself, because this book is less than 200 pages long and because it has a REALLY pretty cover (not the one I chose for this review) therefore would look so pretty on my bookshelves, but in the end I just couldn't do it. I kept thinking about all the other books I've got coming up next that I'm so excited to read.
